photographias!

on the infamous aquaduct! all that water, open to the hot air, roaring through the desert. strange.

my old hat, desentigrated by the wind, and my new hat from hiker town. it didn't stay on my head in the wind though...

SYE! Laura Matsen here. Just got back from a weekend of climbing with brother Erick in Tuolumne meadows (2 routes on fairview dome and the whole mathes crest) and during it we were on the John Muir trail. I remarked as we were hiking off at 8pm last night how awesome it would be to run into you two! Alas, not this time but it looks like we were indeed close. I love watching, marking and thinking about your progress. Good work!! Whitney sounds awesome. Enjoy all this time outside...

Hey! So, looks like we're driving down to SF to attend a friend's wedding this Saturday, the 21st. Thought we might visit Yosemite before returning to Seattle. Seems that you'll be just down the road! Maybe we can greet you in Independence, when you come down from scaling Whitney -- with a truckful of cookies and cheap beer! (...or pickles and shellfish, or cantaloupe and sushi, or some other desirous thing that's hard to come by upon the trail...) Requests?
