i love campsites in towns that have the $3 hiker biker sites. all the pct hikers have been hanging out in one of the sites, and it's been nice to compare info. there are at least three hiker boxes in town that alex and i raided for more supplies, although we seem to always have too much food. at least we can trade some of our food in for other more appetizing ones.
alex and i have had an adventurous past few days, hiking through some tough areas. we'll write more about it later. but let me just say that this stretch of the San Jacinto Mountain range is beautiful!!! reminds me of north cascades a bit, but real hot. and i we were hiking in maybe 60-100 mile/hour winds a few nights ago. a bit tricky on cliffs! don't worry though, we are being careful.
back up the trail, up devil's slide to the PCT, then up to San Jacinto peak, almost 11,000 feet!
